the beauty, talent, achievements and undeniable
sex appeal of Latina, African American and Caribbean
lesbians who live, work and play in our communities,
who are our sisters, friends, family, lovers and
most importantly, are us.
As
lesbians of color, coming out and being true to
our sexual identity and preferences, in our communities,
is still a courageous act of faith in the face
of stigma, discrimination and physical violence.

twelve stunning black & white photographs
of sexy, urban, intelligent and accomplished women
who are proud to be who they are – Lesbians
of Color. This premier SweetG Productions
specialty calendar shatters the male heterosexual
eroticized fantasy of lesbians by presenting true-to-life
images of real women. Each woman reflects a segment
of our collective Lesbian of Color identities,
ranging from: hard butch, butch, aggressive, in-between,
aggressive femme, soft femme and ultra-femme.
 As
founder, producer, talent scout, fund raiser,
negotiator, counselor, writer, and overall gopher
behind, Simply Sexy-Just
As We Are! my intent is to dispel
the negative stereotypes that I grew up with as
a child. The goal of SweetG Productions
is to produce positive life-style affirming images
of women we respect, who nurture our desires,
inspire our passions and are contemporary role
models for lesbians of color – in a society
where we are barely visible.
SweetG
Productions worked hard to include a
range of ethnic backgrounds. Similarly, thoughtful
consideration and integrity were used to remain
true to the distinctly unique essence of each
woman. New York City is the backdrop for this
ground-breaking exclusively delicious 2007 lesbian
calendar. Locations were selected to highlight
the divergent paths we travel in this global city
while complimenting the photograph. It is my hope
that Latina, African-American and Caribbean lesbians
in New York City, across the United States and
around the world will see reflections of themselves,
and the women they love in this collectors calendar.
